Mike Candrea gives clear, concise, easy-to-understand instruction on warming up, the foundations of fielding, throwing footwork, and fielding back-hand side and glove-hand side. This DVD features demonstrations by Olympic gold medalists Leah O'Brien-Amico at first base and Lovieanne Jung in the middle infield.
Coach JP's take:
In Basic Infield Fundamentals you will easily learn the characteristics of the successful fastpitch infielder… beginning from the feet – up! No matter how much experience you have as either a player or a coach, you are going to find some “gold nuggets” that will allow you or your players to quickly make forward leaps in performance. Coach Candrea even spends time on obvious, but often overlooked details such as proper type and care of your best friend, your glove. See proper foot and arm positions clearly demonstrated, complete with variations, common faults and simple corrections.

ABOUT THE COACH
A lot of coaches know the game. Coach Candrea has the uncanny ability to teach and translate so that you really understand it.
Utilizing a straight-forward and conversational style, he displays an even temperament that gives the viewer, whether a coach or player, the feeling that they can really “get it”!
The viewer clearly sees what to do and what not to do…AND WHY!
Mike Candrea led Team USA to the gold medal at the 2004 Olympics in Athens by outscoring opponents by a combined score of 51-1. With his Olympic duties completed, Candrea returned to the University of Arizona, where he has compiled a 1,027-203 record (.835 winning percentage) over 20 years. He is one of just five Division I softball coaches to win 1,000 games and his Arizona Wildcats have won seven NCAA Championships, including the 2006 title.
For all of his success, Candrea has been named Pac-10 Coach or co-Coach of the Year nine times. He has won three National Coach of the Year awards and was elected to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 1996.
