An Ice Or Cold Pack After Exertion Helps Prevent Repetitive Stress Injuries
I'm no doctor or trainer but as a player and coach, ice has always been one of those standard treatments that's never been improved upon, until recently.
The problems with ice wraps and plastic bags has also been a standard... and most of the time, a cumbersome compromise. They slip out of place, leak and restrict movement. In short, a pain to deal with.
The idea guys at Pro Ice have gotten it right and built these products for the specific shape and size of our player's shoulder, elbow, plus some other ingenious shapes that can be used elsewhere from neck, back, thigh, knee, etc (that's our multi purpose model).
Ice And Cold Therapy Products & Reuseable Cold Packs For Baseball Pitchers
Major League pitchers ice their arms though you don't usually see them because they tend to leave the dugout and go to the clubhouse after their day is done.
But look in college and High School dugout and after games and you will see today's pitchers throwing arm wrapped in ice. Our Pro Ice Reusable Cold Packs are just a simple and very efficient way to get it done.
Why Pro Ice & Who Cares About 27 Degrees?
Water & cold packs freeze at 32 degrees Fahrenheit so when you apply ice to an affected body part, it immediately begins to melt, often becoming 40 degrees before your sore shoulder or sore elbow reaches that all-important numb phase.
When this happens, the product goes from that from therapeutic to that of an anesthetic (think what that means to a ballpayer with a sore wing).
The inserts of Pro Ice therapy combine distilled water with glycol so it freezes at the optimum 27 degrees. This allows for more frozen-time & greater tissue penetration. This is also considered optimal because below 27 degrees quickly becomes that point where body tissue can burn! Note that insets are also FDA approved food grade non-toxic, so the manufacturer says that there is little need to worry about accidents involving small children or pets.
Ice therapy works and all forms can give you some results.
The concept of Pro Ice brand may just make sense to you and your baseball program or baseball player with shoulder pain or elbow pain.
