The Ultimate Pitcher's and Catcher's Plate is a great visual target for pitchers to see the ideal locations to throw the ball to. It also positions the catcher in the correct place. The Plate is a simple tool to use and emphasizes what the best coaches in the world are teaching their pitchers and catchers: working the outside and inside corners.
The Plate's orange edges are 5" wide on the top and 7" wide on the bottom front to serve as a visual target for the pitcher to see. The 5” orange edges and white part of the Plate cover the last 2½" of a traditional home plate and 2½” off of the plate (the outer limits of the strike zone). This Plate will effectively teach pitchers the 22" wide target - the entire strike zone - rather than just the 17" width of home plate.
The Plate is very durable and lightweight, so it's easy to carry wherever you practice or play. Many youth leagues are permanently installing the Ultimate Plate in their bullpens, where the plate's added UV protection ensures long life outdoors.
"Our pitchers love the visual aid it gives them and our catchers feel it helps them set up and lets them see what pitches are close enough to be framed. I would highly recommend the Pitcher's Plate."
John Rittman - Stanford University, Head Softball Coach
"Our team was among the first collegiate programs to use the Pitcher's Plate. Its impact was seen immediately. In my 20 years as a college coach, never have I had a better instructional tool for pitchers and catchers. The Pitcher's Plate gives pitchers a clear idea of where (and where not) to pitch. Catchers can easily develop good habits in regards to setting-up for pitches by using this marvelous instructional aid. We use it daily, and I recommend it to everyone."
Scott Whitlock - Kennesaw State University, Head Softball Coach

Multiple Uses for Fastpitch Players
For Pitchers
Teaches the importance of pitch location. The Plate is a great visual tool for the pitcher, who can easily see the ideal locations to throw to, helping them better understand where they should be throwing the ball.
For Catchers
The back part of the plate is to help position the catcher. She centers her body with the point of the white part of the plate on either corner to give the ideal target for the pitcher to throw to. Setting up on the corners creates great habits for the catcher by teaching them how to set up in the proper location.
For Hitters
Batters can work on inside and outside pitches. Also good for hitting drills, such as two strike hitting by expanding the zone. The Plate gives the hitter a better understanding of what the pitcher is trying to do.
The Ultimate Pitcher's and Catcher's Plate is the brainchild of four youth league coaches in Georgia, each of whom played college baseball. They all played youth ball in the highly recognized East Cobb Baseball Program, where company founder Terry Bellah has been a pitching coach for over a decade.
"The idea for this great product came while I was giving pitching lessons to a high school player. The pitcher did well with the lessons, but when I went to see him pitch in his high school game, he was getting pounded. The pitcher's mechanics were fine, but the catcher was setting up right down the middle. Great mechanics for a pitcher are no good without proper location of pitches. I then had his high school catcher come to a few lessons to teach him how and where to set up to give a proper target to the pitcher. Once they were on the same page, this pitcher was very successful. That is the beauty of this training aid, not only does it visually give a good target for the pitcher, it also helps the all important catcher position himself to set up in the proper location."
- Terry Bellah
The Ultimate Pitcher's and Catcher's Plate was chosen as one of the Top New Products at the 2005 American Baseball Coaches Association National Convention in Nashville. The Plate was then successfully used by the Milwaukee Brewers in spring training. Many college teams, including 2005 College World Series champion Texas, are now using it to train their pitchers and catchers.
